Six-Hour
Course
InBalance's six-hour education course, which can be offered in
one sitting or as a series, is the most comprehensive option for
providing this program.
The course
covers checking account fundamentals, resolving issues with ChexSystems
and credit bureaus, smart money management, tools to protect against
errors and fraud, time management, account options, and hands-on
exercises on all aspects of checking account management from writing
checks to reconciling an account.
Questions
for review and discussion are available for each section and a
comprehensive exam is included at the end of the program.
Four-Hour
Course
Our four-hour education program is somewhat pared down from the
six-hour course, but still hits on many points crucial to checking
account management. As with the six-hour program, the class can
be held in one day, or as two classes.
Topics covered
include checking account fundamentals, resolving issues with ChexSystems
and credit bureaus, basic money management pointers, tools to
protect against errors and fraud, and hands-on exercises on all
aspects of checking account management from writing checks to
reconciling an account.
Questions
for review and discussion are available for each section and a
comprehensive exam is included at the end of the program.
Two-Hour Course
The two-hour program is relatively basic, but provides an opportunity
for participants to learn the most essential aspects of appropriate
handing of a checking account.
The topics
include checking account fundamentals, resolving issues with ChexSystems,
tools to protect against errors and fraud, and hands-on exercises
in many aspects of checking account management from writing checks
to reconciling a checkbook.
Questions
for review and discussion are available for each section and a
comprehensive exam is included at the end of the program.
Self-Study
For credit unions who opt to offer this program as an on-line
self-study program, potential members will go through all of the
material offered in the six-hour course, take the exam on-line,
and results will be returned to the credit union. Credit unions
using this option will be given log-in codes and passwords for
potential members to use in order to track usage.
